FOTO DAL FINESTRINO

Ettore Sottsass

Mutina LIBRARY is a visual compendium made of all the inspirational sources that brought Mutina brand to life and shape. The book we would like to share with you is Foto dal Finestrino, collection of the column on Domus, from 2003 to 2006, curated by Ettore Sottsass.
Sottsass was an Italian industrial designer who brought bold colours, contemporary style, and ironic wit to everyday items, creating strikingly postmodern furniture, electronic gear, and domestic accessories.

“Quite rarely I encounter with architecture .
More often I encounter with constructions, with millions of cubic meters of identical rooms, equipped with one window and one door, piled up in huge group, that reach even eighty meters of height and sometime even hundred-fifty meters. I don’t really know.

Those mountains made of identical rooms are really affecting me, as it seems that on the top there might be a lack of pity for the people climbing.

Sometime i encounter with huge sculptures, high as houses, […].

That’s how we call them.

Quite rarely I encounter with architecture, the one that’s always attempting to fold my body and my fragile soul.”
