Robby Müller: Polaroid
by Bianca Stigter, Robby Müller
Cameraman Robby Müller had a special role in the history of modern cinema. The pioneering approach to image and the use of light as an aesthetic and creative tool allowed him to work closely with innovative directors such as Wim Werners, Jim Jarmush and Lars von Trier, among the others.
During his career, Müller collected Polaroid photographs, letters and notes, thus creating his own working archive. In 2016, this material has been presented in a major exhibition at the EYE Film Museum Amsterdam, accompanied by the publication of “Robby Müller: Polaroid”. The volume gives a privileged point of view on Müller’s evocative gaze and production, revealing unedited details and fascinating scenarios.
