Osso & Bottone is the first Mutina collection intended explicitly for outdoor environments, but it also works perfectly indoors. Designed by Ronan Bouroullec, it represents a significant innovation in ceramic usage and versatility.
The name comes from the shapes evoked by the slightly contoured configuration of the pieces that make up the collection. The designer intervened on the ceramic elements with a symbolic gesture, “cutting” the traditional rectangle to create unique shapes. These shapes accommodate the stucco in their “missing parts” and create coloured geometries that make the composition dynamic, thanks to the precious work of light and shadow. The result is a kind of optical vibration capable of blurring the original configurations and opening a dialogue between the collection and the natural world it faces.
