Raw-Edges’ London House
Kentish Town
In the last few years, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay have worked on the project of their new residence in Kentish Town, transforming a traditional London house from the Victorian period into a lively and welcoming home for the entire family.
With the exception of the front façade, which is protected under conservation laws, the interiors have been entirely renovated adopting original design solutions, such as the gymnastics rings hanging from the ceiling of the living room, that create an innovative play area, and the dining table made from leftover linoleum flooring.
The surfaces have been covered with some of the ceramic collections designed by Raw Edges for Mutina: Tex gives birth to a dynamic layout that adorns the wall of the kitchen countertop and the bathroom floor; meanwhile, Tape develops along the living-room floor, reaching the outdoor area overlooking the garden, evoking a sense of continuity and fluidity, as well as along the walls of the bathroom.
