Variations on Ceramics & Coppie Di Fatto e Atlro
On the occasion of the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile, Mutina hosted a special event at its Fiorano Modenese headquarters, celebrating two leading figures in contemporary design and art: Ronan Bouroullec, with the project Variations on Ceramics, and Nathalie Du Pasquier, with the exhibition Coppie di Fatto e Altro. The exhibition opened on 22 September 2025 at Spazio Mutina and is accessible to the public from 29 September.
Variations on Ceramics traces the evolution of a profound and long-standing dialogue between Ronan Bouroullec and Mutina. Built over time together with Massimo Orsini—the company’s CEO—this relationship is grounded in a hared vision: to transform ceramics into an expressive language, interweaving research, beauty, poetry, and material. The event unveiled three new collections – Aria, Adagio Outdoor, and Motivo – which continue to explore decorative surfaces as a form of architectural installation, capable of generating three-dimensionality, vibration, and a dialogue with light.
Running in parallel, Coppie di Fatto e Altro is an exhibition dedicated to Nathalie Du Pasquier and her new Editions, first presented in Paris on 5 September at Librairie Yvon Lambert. The collection of handmade ceramic objects challenges both functional and formal conventions, bringing to life pairs of vases that complement, overturn, and transform one another, revealing a subtle irony and a joyful creative freedom.
Nathalie Du Pasquier’s practice, straddling art and design, follows a unique trajectory within Mutina’s projects, enriched by years of intense and prolific collaboration.
